Maryland is a state in the eastern United States, originally founded as a English colony in 1632. One of the original Thirteen Colonies, it shares borders with Virginia, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Its capital is Annapolis, and its largest city is Baltimore.
