In this edition of r/place, Portugal was only organized with members of the Portuguese Reddit community without the logistical help of r/portugal, due their protest to the API restrictions in 2023
By initiative of some members of the Portuguese community, a new community was created on discord, called TugaPlace, that brought the attention of portuguese Twitch streamers to r/place. However, in the beginning of their participation on r/place, there was a lack of communication between the community and the streamers due to their resistance to join TugaPlace's discord server, which caused the destruction of Argentina, an artwork and FoxHole (who was an ally).
After many divergences between part of the moderation team, the streamers, a great part of the users (originally participants in the community) and artists there was a mass ban wave of about 200 people in one night. After the ban wave, some users also had shown some signs of dissatisfaction, but they were rapidly contained by the moderation team.
