The team behind the inclusion of 86: Eighty Six in 2022 consisted of those from the official subreddit and the official Discord server, and they managed to make three artworks on the canvas. The team consisted of anywhere between 50 to 150 people.
It started when u/Elevatorisbest (a.k.a. u/Orleniscool) made a post to the subreddit a few days before the beginning of r/place 2022. The post encouraged people to make 86: Eighty Six a part of r/place. Then, after the event began, u/TsuyoshiHaruka made another post on the subreddit about hte fact he already added "86" to the canvas. The discussion then moved to the Discord server, where a thread was created to discuss plans for the art. That thread became the base of operations for the group.
