86: Eighty Six is a light novel written by Asato Asato, with character designs created by Shirabi and mech designs by I-IV.

Production of the light novel started in 2017 and is still ongoing today. The light novel won the Grand Prize at the 23rd "Dengeki Novel Prize" award in 2016.1 It also ranked second in 2018 in Takarajimasha's annual light novel guide book "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!" in the bunkobon category,2 it ranked fifth in 2019.3

Since 2018 the Light Novel is also being adapted into a manga series, illustrated by Yoshihara Motoki, which is currently ongoing with weekly releases.

In 2021 the Anime adaptation of the Light Novel started to air, it was animated by A-1 Pictures totalling 23 episodes split into two cours. Where cour 1 was made up of episodes 1 though 11 and cour two contained episodes 12 though 23.

After the release of the last episode in March 2022 "86 - Eighty Six" reached the top 50 highest rated shows of all time on both MyAnimeList and Anilist.
The 86: Eighty Six r/place 2022 team
The 86: Eighty Six r/place 2022 team (which existed out of people from the official subreddit and the official Discord) managed to make 3 "art pieces" on the canvas. The exact size of the 86: Eighty Six r/place 2022 team is unknown but estimations are somewhere between 50 and 150 people.

It all started with the Reddit user u/Elevatorisbest (who also goes by u/Orleniscool) who made a post in the r/EightySix subreddit a couple days before the start of r/place 2022, about the fact that all the people in the subreddit should unite and try to make 86: Eighty Six a part of it.4

A couple hours after the start u/TsuyoshiHaruka made a post in the r/EightySix subreddit about the fact that he added "86" on to the canvas.5 Discord quickly users created a thread to discuss the plans for the "art", and that thread became the base for the final result we can see now.
Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe, originally founded as a part of the Kievan Rus', in 879. With a total land area of 603,628 square kilometres (233,062 square miles), Ukraine is the second-largest country in Europe. Its capital and largest city is Kyiv, and its two next-largest cities are Kharkiv and Odesa.

While a Ukrainian flag was created on the canvas mostly without its input, r/placeukraine was the primary community responsible for the flag and Ukraine-related artwork on the r/place 2022 canvas. A smaller Ukrainian flag was also present on the r/place 2017 canvas.

r/place 2022
History
Day 1 - Chaotic Establishment
In the beginning, the flag was created by "The Hive Mind" - and had no way to coordinate and control its expansion. This caused the flag to quickly span the entire Canvas on Day 1, destroying the start of some artwork.

This prompted the community of r/PlaceUkraine to establish leadership, and organization, and attempt to gain control over the situation.
Day 2 - Cleanup & Organization
Day 3 - Collabs & The Final Vision
Day 4 - Cleanup, Maintenance, and Final Art
Terms
The Hive Mind
An uncountable number of people who participated in 2022 wanted to help maintain the Ukrainian Mural. As these individuals were not part of r/PlaceUkraine's Subreddit or the community's Discord, they were out of the loop on planned projects, and would often prevent the progress of new artwork by accident.

The r/PlaceUkraine community quickly referred to these individuals as part of "The Hive Mind". During r/place 2022, they were seen as both an obstacle and a blessing. It took great effort to show when new artwork was trying to be added, slowing the progress of artwork overall. But as soon as the artwork was done, The Hive Mind protected it.

This caused false accusations of Bot Use from many groups, but only two groups of bots were approved by r/PlaceUkraine Moderators towards the end of the project.
Bot Use
Zelensky Anti-Grief
After the community created artwork depicting Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky, many supporters of Russian's invasion of Ukraine on 2022 attempted to attack and deface the artwork of Zelensky.

With a massive group effort, members of r/PlaceUkraine worked together to add sunglasses to the president, while a number of bots were developed to help protect the art.

Cambodian Heart of Solidarity
After r/PlaceUkraine Moderators were informed that the Cambodian Heart was the final representation of the Cambodian community on all of r/place 2022, moderators worked to ensure the safety of this heart with a small number of bots.
Unconfirmed Bot Use
Many individuals claim the r/PlaceUkraine used bots to create their art, however when asked, Moderators are only aware of two bots being approved solely for protection.

Upon inspection of time-lapses, All artwork on r/PlaceUkraine's Mural has been confirmed to have erratic and non-uniform patterns of creation, lined up with coordination messages from Moderators within their discord.
He was first built in 2017, was destroyed twice, and unfortunately didn't make it onto the final canvas. Since 2017, the members of the Green Lattice have grown to love him, and many were excited to bring him back. He was rebuilt and protected on the 2022 canvas.

Origin
Creation
The creator of Grapu initially attempted to build him in the Blue Corner's territory, but was turned away. They looked elsewhere and decided to submit a request to build him somewhere in the Green Lattice's territory. Since they knew it would be difficult fighting against the hivemind, they also asked the members of the lattice for their assistance building Grapu.

After some back and forth, the Green Lattice accepted the request. They started plans to build Grapu around (888, 404), near the southern boundaries of the Green Lattice. The small group working on it had trouble dealing with the hivemind of random users that maintained the Green Lattice's territory. Because they were unaware of the plans to build Grapu, they assumed that the purple and dark grey pixels were attempts at vandalizing the lattice, and covered them up. The creator of Grapu soon realized that finishing Grapu would require a coordinated effort, and they rallied the Discord server together to build him. That group effort unified the members of the Green Lattice and their allies, and Grapu became a beloved symbol of the lattice.
The OJJ Orange is a random orange created by the members of Orange Juice Juice.

It is located to the bottom right of the osu! logo and survived all four days of r/place.

The main colors used are yellow, orange, and white. A single pixel of brown represents the stem, while light and dark green form the leaf.

/r/place 2022
Creation
The orange began taking shape on the first day at 06:50 and was shifted to the left starting at 08:13 to avoid overlap with the Avatar Logo to the right. The orange was completed at 09:36.

The letters "jim" were written above the orange at 22:30, but faced opposition from a group trying to change them to "KT" instead. OJJ initially supported the former faction, but later decided to make the letters "OJJ" and completed them by 35:56. Each "J" received another pixel at 49:46.

Conflict
The orange was never wiped out, and damage was generally minimal whenever it happened.

A periwinkle background was completed around 38:33 during the xQc attack on the area above osu!. Only a single pixel of the orange and two pixels of the text were affected by the attack.

A group trying to change the "OJJ" to "104" attacked the letters starting around 78:47. This group outnumbered the members of OJJ, but the alliance with Avatar paid off as reinforcements turned the tide. The 104 gang gave up by 79:52.

Final Result
Both the text and orange were intact for The Great Whiteout.

SayaDuck: Added conflict section to artwork example

Creating Pages
The PlaceAtlas2 is composed of two main types of pages: Artwork pages and Community pages. Artwork pages describe a single piece of artwork on the r/place canvas, while Community pages describe the community that created a particular artwork (or multiple pieces of artwork). There are also Alliance pages which describe multiple communities that worked together to create, recreate, or defend a piece or pieces of artwork.

Artwork Pages
Each Artwork article should have the Artwork Template at the top for a consistent display of information. This should include a name for the artwork, a brief description (detailed description and explanations should go into the body of the article), the location and Atlas ID of the artwork on the canvas, and a link to the page of the community(ies) that created it.

If many details about the artwork are unknown, it is still acceptable to create the page using the information already in the Atlas, and include the Artwork stub template at the beginning of the article to indicate that more information is requested.

Additionally, a redirect should be created from each Atlas ID to the article of the artwork it references. For example, suppose artwork entitled "Some Art" has an Atlas ID of "tuvwxy". First, create a page at Some Art with the basic information about the artwork. Use this code as a template to start the creation of the page:
<pre>
Artwork stub

This is longer description of the thing that is in Some Art and also a cool fact about the thing.

/r/place 2022
Creation
Conflict
Final Result
</pre>

All elements of the Artwork template are recommended, but only the name is required. If an element is not present, simply remove that line from the code. Use tags to link to community pages of creators.

You would create a page at tuvwxy containing only the code to redirect: <pre>#REDIRECT Some Art</pre>

Alternatively, use the template to create the page first at tuvwxy and then use the "Move" function to automatically create a redirect to the named Some Art page.

Please make note of capitalization conventions, as wiki links are case-sensitive. Titles of artwork should be written in Title Case, and Atlas IDs are all lowercase.

Community Pages
Each Community article should have the Community Template at the top for a consistent display of information. This should include a name for the community (with optional aliases), a brief description (detailed description and explanations should go into the body of the article), the artwork they have created (with wiki links), and any relevant links to the community.

If many details about the artwork are unknown, it is still acceptable to create the page using the information already in the Atlas, and include the Community stub template at the beginning of the article to indicate that more information is requested.

To create a page for a community, you can use this template:
<pre>
Community stub

This is longer description of the community.
This is why the community decided to make Some Art.

r/place 2022
Artwork
Some Art
: See also: Some Art
Some Art was a piece of artwork that some community made depicting a thing.

Alliances
History
</pre>
The name, description, and artwork parameters of the Community template are recommended, but only the name is required. If an element is not present, simply remove that line from the code. Use tags to link to the artwork pages for the community's creations.

As wiki links are case sensitive, take note of capitalization and naming conventions. Communities based around a subreddit should use that subreddit name (including "r/") as the name of the page (e.g. r/place). For other communities, use Title Case in the community name unless there is an explicit reason to use another form (e.g. Rust Programming Language but xQc).

The OJJ Orange is a random orange created by the members of Orange Juice Juice

Starting at 82:04, players were only able to place white pixels, thus forcing the canvas to return to the blank state from which it started. All artwork was gradually destroyed over the course of an hour, until the canvas was turned completely to white at 83:19. r/place officially ended thereafter.
Julianne "Jill" Stingray is the protagonist and player character of the 2016 indie video game VA-11 HALL-A; Fore is her pet cat. They first appeared on the third day of the r/place 2022 canvas.
r/place 2022
Concept
Proposals to add Jill to the canvas existed as far back as 2017, but the Operation Bad Touch Discord server only started to earnestly consider proposals early in the third day, with the anticipation of the second canvas expansion. Users MysteryPig and Sodapone quickly got to work drafting templates, with MysteryPig coming up with an original design, and Sodapone opting to replicate the spritework in-game. Other members of the server gravitated towards Sodapone's design, and their template was chosen. MysteryPig further contributed to Sodapone's design by adding Fore underneath the kotatsu.

The template had to be redesigned numerous times due to space constraints at the canvas, as well as various diplomatic negotiations that resulted in what was initially a barren wall being filled with a variety of wall decorations. The finalized design was completed towards the end of the third day, well after the artwork on the canvas was completed.

Creation
Work began almost immediately after the second canvas expansion, with the beginnings of the border being laid out at 54:29, at (640,1650). However, other groups were able to secure their borders faster, and the VA-11 HALL-A community hastily relocated to (550,1550) instead. Assistance to the project was provided from the Gacha Alliance, with the Girls' Frontline community in particular providing extra manpower.

Progress was slow at first, and hampered by the Void passing along the right side--the progress was slow enough that some other smaller communities had already filled up the planned space. Through negotiation, the VA-11 HALL-A community was able to get some of these projects to relocate, while also working out a deal with the Men I Trust community to integrate Humming Man as a painting on Jill's wall. Further negotiations were made to incorporate the Campfire as another painting, followed by the Rust community as a sticker, and finally the Rainbow Slime by putting it under the kotatsu with fire.

Two pieces of artwork were displaced with force; one of which, the PAUL text, was displaced by force to make room for Fore. They continued to attempt a resistance, placing light blue pixels on him over the next few hours. Seeing this, Sodapone felt guilty and decided to add the PAUL text as another sticker in the template. This was completed on the canvas at 66:25.

One more change to the artwork was the replacement of the beer can on Jill's kotatsu with a Bad Touch, a cocktail from the game named after the Bloodhound Gang song. This was added as a "calling card" for Operation Bad Touch, the Discord server on which most of the VA-11 HALL-A community's efforts were coordinated.
Final Result
After completion, Jill would have a very peaceful existence on the canvas, not seeing a single raid, although experiencing some minor vandalism. There were points where both the beer can and Bad Touch on her kotatsu had Among Us crewmates drawn onto them.

Towards the end of r/place, users started trying to put a blush on Jill. Initially the community condoned this, until users then started trying to give her an open mouth as well, reminiscent of an "ahegao" face. From there, making her blush was banned by the project leaders, and community members would try and remove the blush whenever possible. However, attempts from other users to make her blush continued until the Great Whiteout; ultimately, a small blush did make it onto the final art, as well as a mouth.

Due to her relatively peaceful location on the canvas, Jill was among the last of the artwork to be destroyed in the Great Whiteout, with her last pixels being blanked out at 83:13.
Inspiration
This artwork is based directly on the screen in-game that appears in between workdays, depicting Jill sitting at the kotatsu in her home. Earlier iterations of the template design incorporated other elements of the room; such as the sticky notes on the wall, the sliding glass door leading to the balcony, and the SLUT shirt on a clothes hanger. The other smaller artwork as wall decorations have a legitimate background in the game, as one of the game's mechanics involves buying various decorations for Jill's home.
Creation
Rust was allied with foxhole, and helped them build their new image in the third quadrant during the third day. Much discussion took place in the discord server with regards to making a new piece of art, but most people considered it a worthless task, since the common belief was that they would not be able to hold it through the night. It was also mentioned that all the places adjacent to Foxhole (The safest area for rust) were already taken, by others like Baby metal below it (Who actually ended up losing that ground). However, one user (And his many, many alts) disregarded the leadership's orders and made a rust cog to the left of the new foxhole art all on his own. He then negotiated with r/waifubartending, but they refused a peaceful resolution that would include the circle around the R. After a couple hours of fighting, a diplomatic breakthrough was made and a peaceful resolution was made. It would go on to have a mostly peaceful third and fourth days.
VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action is a 2016 cyberpunk visual novel and bartending simulation game for Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch; developed by Venezuelan indie studio Sukeban Games, and published by Ysbryd Games. Set in the year 207X, players take control of Julianne "Jill" Stingray, a bartender at VA-11 HALL-A, a bar in the downtown of the dystopian Glitch City; and, through Jill's day-to-day job, learn about the city through a wide cast of unusual characters who come to visit the bar.

Members of the VA-11 HALL-A community first began r/place operations in 2022, under the name of Operation Bad Touch, in reference to one of the drinks in the game.

r/place 2022
Artwork
SLUT Text
Main article: SLUT text

The original Operation Bad Touch, the SLUT text was the VA-11 HALL-A community's first contribution to the canvas, appearing towards the bottom-left corner of the canvas and being completed by approximately 15:08. However, it was destroyed by the Void at 19:49, and its space was instead occupied by Technoblade Never Dies!. A second appearance next to Tux would also be short-lived, as it would be overrun by MIT.

The text would not reappear again until 50:05, being added underneath Dana and next to the Crrowd logo, with the help of the Girls' Frontline community. It would remain there until being contested by r/hearc, shortly before the Great Whiteout destroyed both of them.

Dana Zane
Main article: Dana Zane

After assisting the Girls' Frontline community in creating M4A1, Dana Zane became the VA-11 HALL-A community's second addition to r/place as Operation Bad Touch 2.0, situated right next to Peppy, and having minor border skirmishes with r/osuplace throughout her existence there. Despite these minor squabbles however, osuplace generally let the VA-11 HALL-A community have Dana's "BEST BOSS" text overlap with their border.

Dana was damaged during raids from xQc, first losing a small part of her hair when Peppy was overriden with xQc's logo, followed by having her entire body destroyed by the Void when it emerged as a side effect of xQc hijacking the Blue Corner. As an anti-Void measure, her body was temporarily remade with a grey suit, before the background was filled in with light blue, and a light green border was added. Dana would then survive unscathed until the Great Whiteout.

Game Logo
Main articles: VA-11 HALL-A logo, logo

Looking for more to do, the VA-11 HALL-A community then found a newly-opened spot between the Flag of Israel and keqLove. Seizing the opportunity, they made a scaled-down version of the game's logo, as well as the logo for the messageboard danger/u/. While the danger/u/ logo would later be taken over by Cake Face and forced to relocate to Jill's room, the game logo would go on to withstand a raid from the Flag of Romania, and survive in its original location long enough to see the Great Whiteout.

Drinks
Main article: Dana Zane

Through collaboration with the Girls' Frontline community, empty black space in between Peppy and the other smaller pieces was filled in by the Sugar Rush and Piano Woman, two drinks in the game that the player can make and serve. The drinks would have a relatively peaceful life--although the Piano Woman was raided once--and both would survive until the Great Whiteout.
The final project, undertaken by the VA-11 HALL-A community--and assisted by the Girls' Frontline community--was their largest, as sought to recreate the main character, Jill, sitting at her kotatsu in her home. In the process of creating the art, some smaller projects were displaced, but collaborations with Men I Trust, Rust, the Campfire and the Rainbow Slime would see them be integrated with the art by making them into assorted wall hangings. Jill and the associated decorations would have the most peaceful run out of all of the VA-11 HALL-A projects, not seeing a single raid after completion until the Great Whiteout.
Seishun Buta Yarou (Japanese: 青春ブタ野郎) known in English as Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, is a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keiji Mizoguchi. Its community was a member group of the Mai Alliance.

r/place 2022
Location
The piece was initially planned to be positioned between 573, 1830 and 606, 1870, directly bordering the Steins;Gate community's mural of Rintarou Okabe. However, PlaceNL soon began construction of a massive painting, The Nightwatch, and the community was forced to relocate as most of the area was lost.

The community struck an alliance between Titanfolk and Steins;Gate, and the new bounds of the piece were to be positioned from 518, 1800 to 550, 1839. A border was shared between the piece and Titanfolk's Floch mural. However, this new position was not without compromise, as the piece was overlapping murals from HCult and a small piece depicting a Pim's biscuit, which came to be known jokingly as a potato due to its resemblance to the tuber. It was settled that both groups would incorporate themselves into the SBY artwork in exchange for permission to expand the piece into their former space. At this point, there was only enough space available to construct the head of Mai Sakurajima as the south border, shared with the Suns and LA Cardinals, was not contestable. However, during the night, the community was able to expand upwards enough to completely construct the original artwork, along with some extra space for allies to occupy.

After the expansion, it was believed that the final position of the piece had been secured, but this would soon prove to be a naïve belief. Mere minutes after finishing the piece, PlaceNL began expanding their border directly upwards, which cut through the SBY mural by about 13 pixels, in order to construct The Seven Provinces. It was stated by PlaceNL that Titanfolk had contacted SBY about the construction of the painting, but no communication had actually taken place. Titanfolk and Steins;Gate's murals would be moved, and SBY would be left to fend for itself.

The community scrambled to find a solution, first moving Mai Sakurajima 5 pixels to the left as a contingency, then by attempting to negotiate a plan with PlaceNL. Diplomats from the SBY community were ignored at first, but were soon put through to representatives from PlaceNL. It was eventually decided that, in order to preserve SBY's artwork as well as The Binding of Isaac's mural, the left border of The Seven Provinces would shrink by 13 pixels allowing the original borders of these communities to persist. Despite this provision, the painting still claimed casualties, namely SC and the LA Cardinals. It was quickly negotiated that SC would move into the bottom right of the SBY piece, while the LA Cardinals would move to the bottom left, partially overlapping the SBY piece as well as the Flair Wars icon.

This position was the final position of the SBY mural, and it would be defended until the eventual whiteout.

Girls' Frontline (GFL) is a 2016 science fiction alternate history tactical roleplaying gacha game for mobile devices; developed by Chinese studio Mica Team, and published by Sunborn. Players take the role of a field commander for a private military company, ordering and controlling formations of modified civilian androids, known as T-Dolls, in order to battle enemies on a map of interconnected nodes. The T-Dolls are named directly after the guns they wield, and are depicted as personifications (gijinka) of them. The game's plot, set in the year 2063 after a Third World War, begins with the Ukrainian android manufacturing company Sangvis Ferri going rogue, and the Griffin & Kryuger PMC being contracted to destroy the androids and robots that have hijacked the company.

As Girls' Frontline's international release was after 2017's r/place, it only had a noteworthy presence in the 2022 canvas. Members of its community, under a dedicated Discord server named PlaceFrontline, were a member group of the Gacha Alliance.

Artwork
AR Team Emblem
Main article: AR Team emblem

The first project officially undertaken by PlaceFrontline was the emblem of the Antirain (AR) Team, the main characters of the game's story. It was first completed at 16:35, being situated on what was then the site of the Ukrainian flag. From there it would survive until 47:29, when it was taken over by a Polish flag.
M4A1
Main article: M4A1

The first iteration of M4A1, dubbed "Mega M4" by PlaceFrontline, was attempted at (1180,794) at 27:52. However, it was run over by the third French flag only half an hour later.

A second attempt with a smaller design, dubbed "Normal M4", was made at (1223,646), at 29:02. However, this design would then be overrun by the extending Flag of Argentina within two hours.

After being recommended the spot by the VA-11 HALL-A community, and negotiating with the community who had made Hatsune Miku, the third, and finally successful attempt at building M4A1 was started (1789,726), at 30:47. Once more, the template had to be shrunken down, into what was dubbed "Mini M4". Her location, directly adjacent to the Baltimore Ravens, resulted in PlaceFrontline establishing communications with them and trying to establish an alliance. However, the Ravens fans were uncooperative and belligerent, trying constantly to extend their borders into M4 slightly. Ultimately, shortly after the Great Whiteout started, PlaceFrontline raided the Baltimore Ravens logo, successfully destroying them before M4 herself was destroyed.

M4A1 was subject to a Void raid by xQc at 64:03 and was completely destroyed; but, with the help of allies, she was rebuilt so fast that xQc was forced to redirect his viewers elsewhere.

HK416
Main article: M4A1

A first attempt at HK416 was made by u/thornish416, a user operating independently of PlaceFrontline, at (1416,416) at 27:55. She would be swallowed by the Void almost immediately.

A second attempt by u/thornish416 was completed at (1493,62) at 30:30. She would be again overrun by the surrounding artwork by 31:43.

Ultimately, with there being just enough space for her, PlaceFrontline was able to make a very small chibi head of HK416 fit in between M4A1 and Dana Zane. 416 was able to remain there--albeit being destroyed once in a Void raid by xQc--until the Great Whiteout.
Strong Enemy Skull
Main article: M4A1

Initially intended to be placed to the top-right of M4A1--as that is where the skull icon appears in the game--PlaceFrontline opted to add the skull to the bottom-left instead, as that was the only spot in the area where there was enough room. This placement was inadvertently right next to Peppy, accidentally giving the skull a whole new meaning as Peppy proved to be remarkably resistant to any form of raiding. It survived unscathed until the Great Whiteout.
Game Icon
Main article: Gacha Alliance app icons

As part of a plan with the Gacha Alliance, PlaceFrontline, as well as multiple other gacha communities, collaborated to create a large grid of app icons at the bottom-right of the canvas. While the icons for Arknights, Blue Archive, Guardian Tales, Order, Honkai Impact 3rd, and Genshin Impact were filled out quickly, the planned space for the rest of the icons was cut off by a second flag of Argentina. After a hasty reorganization and a remake of the template, the Girls' Frontline app icon was added to the left of the Arknights icon, and successfully stayed there until the Great Whiteout.
Incomplete Artwork
Griffin & Kryuger Logo
An attempt was made to create the Griffin & Kryuger logo out of a recently-closed Void outbreak. It would have been in between Moons and Arona & Shiroko, but it was raided by a streamer before its shape could be made out. The space was instead filled by Dumsex and the Bitcoin logo.
G11
After completing HK416, /u/thornish made a post appealing to other users on r/girlsfrontline to help them add G11 next to her. Only a few pixels were placed before both were overrun by surrounding artwork.
UMP45
After a raid at 61:16 to put Kobe Bryant on the canvas cleared much space, PlaceFrontline users attempted to add UMP45 to the newly-opened blank space at his top right, at (1794,872). Her hair was partially done when r/marisad users instead used it to create marisad. No further attempts were made to add her to the canvas.
A design and suggestion to create the AR Team on the canvas was provided by Cleista Celeste on Twitter on the first day of r/place 2022. While the template was officially drafted and made into an overlay, PlaceFrontline simply lacked the manpower needed to create it, and never attempted it. The emblem in the background was ultimately adapted into the AR Team emblem.

Soppo Junya
A design for Soppo Junya--a chibi form of M4 SOPMOD II--was submitted to PlaceFrontline directly over Discord. However, it was never attempted.

Azur Lane (AL) is a 2017 alternate history shoot-em-up gacha game for mobile devices; developed by Chinese studio Manjuu, and published by Yo-Star. Players take the role of a naval commander, commanding and controlling fleets of anthropomorphized warships from WWII--known in-game as shipgirls. The game takes place at an indeterminate time after a war between the Azur Lane and Crimson Axis--the game timeline's equivalent to the Allied and Axis powers. The two instead unite against the Sirens, a faction of mysterious, timeline-hopping shipgirls that wreak havoc upon various timelines of Earth through "reenactments".

As Azur Lane's international release was after 2017's r/place, it only had a notable presence in the 2022 canvas. Its community was unusually fractured, as r/AzureLane moderators were hostile to r/place, and removed threads that attempted to coordinate any actions. Nevertheless, a community to coordinate actions on the canvas did form, and aligned with the Gacha Alliance.

The first and only contribution of OJJ as a group, the orange was created right below the osu! Logo. It was completed at 09:36, and lasted virtually untouched for the rest of r/place. The letters "OJJ" were added around 35:56, and each "J" received an additional pixel by 49:46.

Both the text and orange were intact for the Great Whiteout.
OJJ maintained a equal alliance with the Avatar community for every day of r/place.

The border pixel (745,785) between the OJJ Orange and Avatar Logo was a constant annoyance for both communities, sparking negotiations. OJJ was given control of the pixel, and both sides promised to defend each other from potential threats.
The OJJ Orange was on the osu! overlay template for every day of r/place.
The OJJ Orange is a random orange created by the members of Orange Juice Juice
